What's a Quaker Faker?

Could we be talking about the Quakers that were social activists of the 18th and 19th centuries who fought for the rights of women, homosexuality, and prisoners? Not exactly.

A Quaker faker was a decoy gun mounted on the sides of pirate ships to make them look more dangerous. They were completely harmless, tar-covered logs which were intended to scare enemies and victims into a quick surrender.
