In a report on ABC on May 31st, 2010, a mystery illness resembling human drunkenness leaves dozens of lorikeets sick as parrots in Darwin. Close to 200 lorikeets are inflicted with this bizarre illness every year in Darwin, Australia. This year the birds were brought into the hospital where they exhibited splitting headaches and the need to get a good's night sleep.

What a mystery. Poor little birds. I watched the video....they do appear to be drunk like. It must be something they are eating during the wet season. BTW- what a beautiful bird.

I thought they were splendid, besides the staggering around. I was thinking it had something to do with the water. I'm not really sure.
