The Canary Islands

The Canary Islands are a huge destination for travelers heading towards the north western coast of Africa. The string of Islands includes Lanzarote, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and La Palma.

You may have heard the over glorified stories of the island of La Palma. In fact, many believe it will be the site of a huge disaster since it's the most volcanically active island in the chain and it’s also known as the “steepest in the world”. This story brings mass amounts of travelers to the islands to experience the wonder of this geological site and the legend.

In fact, many tourists are completely drawn to the the Canary Islands due to the volcanic origins, which have always been of great interest to many. The scenery is astounding and the forests are mysterious. There are hundreds of different species of plant life, as well as African animal species and European animals including the canary, Blue Chaffinch, Trocaz Pigeon, Madeirs Firecrest, and the Tenerife Goldcrest.

For avid water sport enthusiasts, the islands are an oasis of underwater marine life, so scuba diving is an absolute must when visiting. On your underwater journey you'll see moray eel, bream, jack, grunt, scorpionfish, triggerfish, goby, blenny, sponge, jellyfish, anemones, crabs, mollusc, sea urchin, starfish, sea cucumber and coral.
