Luge Tragedy Accident at the Olympics

2/15/2010 04:03:00 PM ·

The Olympics are a time when all people, of all walks of life, come together in the spirit of sports. However, Olympic Luge contender Nodar Kumaritashvili was involved in a fatal crash on February 12. Of course, there are always risks when it comes to extreme sports and unfortunately, things like this can happen.

I did watch the video and I can honestly say, I was powerfully affected. My heart almost stopped beating. I can't even imagine how his family is feeling right now, but I wanted to send blessings to the luge community and the family of Nodar Kumaritashvili.

The luge has always been one of my favorite Olympic sports to watch ever since I was a kid, so I was deeply saddened when I saw the accident occur.

I have not posted a link to the video as it's already circling the web for those of you that want to see it. However, I think it's in your best interest not to.

MSNBC has published an update about the Luge Association meeting and how they will proceed after the accident. However, the Georgian team already pulled out completely. This video is the latest report about what's being done.

Disclaimer: This is not the crash video.
