Romanian Orphanages: The Ugly Side of Child Care

One of the most difficult issues emanating around the country is the lack of public attention to the current state of many adoption agencies. It's a shame that so many children must succumb to such a horrible existence.

By banning birth control, the notorious Romanian communist leader, Nicolae Ceausescu did nothing to help the already over populated orphanages. He dictated and ruled over the country for over twenty five years. Years of hell for the majority of citizens. The institutes were state run and not funded sufficiently, if at all. Children were left at the doors of the full buildings, staff were over worked, under paid and there were only a handful to care for hundreds of children.
