Religion and Atheism: A Contempt for a Contempt for Disillusionment

The world has been divided by religion for centuries, and yet we are surprised that different cultures, civilizations, and societies can not come to a peace agreement.

As one chooses one way of life, there are always repercussions, and there are always people that don't agree. One such person is Kris Snow, who writes about his experiences with atheism and how the opinions about this particular viewpoint has been completely skewed by those that know nothing about it.

One of the most common misconceptions about atheists is that we don’t believe in anything. That is clearly not the case, as subscribing to the label “atheist” is to simply and solely state that you see no reason to believe in a higher power, so you do not. That is what it boils down to, as I am sure many of you are aware, but where people of faith fail is in their deviation from logical reasoning. Without any evidence, the most rational way to answer the question of whether some omniscient being created everything is in terms of surprise. Which would be more surprising to you: that God exists, or that He doesn’t? Apparently many people are not as easily surprised as I. But I digress. Read more about from Kris's ideal about atheists
